We are hatching eggs, and put them in this morning (Around 8:00 or 9:00 am I believe). And we set the Humidity to around 45, but its at 63 - 65. And can't find out why

We have Blue Andalusians, Prarie Bluebell Eggers and Other and Mixed Breeds (From our Flock)

For Anyone who's wondering, Which Incubator we have. We have a Brinsea Maxi 24 Ex

I have used my Nurture Right twice with good returns and also having trouble this time around. I had been topping it up and it was too moist in there for the past day so I drained it gently. I cracked the lid slightly to bring humidity down more rapidly but that also changes the temp so I’m literally sitting next to it while it stabilizes.

I will stop filling the channel so vigorously and the humidity is going down (it’s at a school, so I don’t check it as much as I’d like). It sounds like a little too low is better than too high so I’ll try to get it in the 45-50% range— hovering around 60 right now so just trying to give these kids a good hatch.

I have the same model, set eggs this Sunday midday, and was/am having the same issue.
I got in contact with Brinsea and the retailer and long story short the 70mm tube that you turn around the capstan arrived too long. I replaced it and it stopped adding too many drops at once. Also the retailer explained the instructions Brinsea give for the size of the 1200mm card is wrong (too long/high). He said to bring it down to level with the top of the safety cap in the reservoir so there is a large enough distance that the droplets do not connect the space between the hard tube and cardboard and flood it.

I've attached the example photos he sent me of the correct (but not corrected in at least the Australian models manuals), just so at least you can check it off as a possible reason you're experiencing the same issue.
However, I will say at different times throughout the day it will still spike to 60%RH while being set to 40%RH (I wanted to set 48%, but it fluctuates at a better average between 40-50% when set to 40% atm.)
