Bear with me here, this is my first time ever taking care of a spayed dog.
Iona has been really good with her incision, the only licking being when she licks her shaved belly. She has never targeted just the incision, and only licked it once or twice by accident. Yesterday I was gone most of the day and when I came back her belly looked bad. I don't know if it's serious bad or normal as I've never done this before, but they did a sloppy job closing her up and her sister looks good (they did a better job with her)

Her head is to the right

Head is down

Sitting shot; her head is to the left

It's slightly warm to the touch, but barely, and she seems a little tender. Otherwise she is fine; eating, drinking, trying to play, etc.

Not only has the vet done a bad stich up but he should have advised you to keep her from getting at it! I used an old T shirt to cover the stiches, I think she needs to go back to the vet, if it is warm and red it could be infected, at least give them a call and see what they say about it, hope she is ok

We got it done at a spay clinic, not the vet. We called lat night and they said keep an eye on it. I was just wondering if this is a common "look", so to speak. We were warned about licking, but she hasn't done it but twice when licking her shaved belly.

Sorry, you didn't say you had contacted the clinic, just out of interest, who does a spay at a spay clinic, I don't think we have them here

I would say going by the pics that it should not look like that, the ones I have seen are just a short neat line, remember as they start to heal they will itch, so it is important not to allow her to be able to get at the wound

Spay clinics offer low cost fixing as a move to get more people to fix their pets. We asked our vet and she had no issue with us going there. We are getting a collar.

In the second photo, I'm trying to determine, is that a hole into the incision? Like, has she licked a suture out? Or is it just the way the photo is registering on my computer.....

My cat's spay looked like that, with a "lump" along the stitch line. Mobile clinics only have qualified people doing the vet work (shots, spay, neuter), but that doesn't mean they can't mess up. If it were me, I would make sure your pup can't get to it and put a disinfectant on there (really important that the dog doesn't lick it off). There's always the cone of shame. Try that for a few days and see if there's any improvement. You probably can't contact the mobile clinic that spayed her, but you could always talk to your vet--I would just try to help it along at home for a few days before spending the money on a vet visit. Good luck.

Ummm, yeah. It isn't oozing or bleeding, so I didn't think it was an issue. You know when you skin your arm and get a kind of sore? No blood or anything? That's what it looks like, not an actual hole into her belly
