If you didn't have access to the iron phosphate bug repellant for gardens (such as found in Sluggo, etc), is there a way of doing a cheap at home homemade remedy? Would just putting something made of iron in the garden around the plant on the ground work?
Technically I have this stuff and put it on the garden. It works pretty well for earwigs. But the way the economy is going... it looks like its in question whether or not we can get this stuff or other things next year.
An example; we have to usually get a pump for our swamp cooler every year. They get clocked with rust, debris from the cooler. 2 years ago these little pumps were like 12.50 USD. Then last year they doubled in price. DOUBLED. Then this year they are between 40 dollars and go all the way up to 99 dollars. We're seriously getting taken advantage of. And society is too turbulent to navigate now. That kind of turbulence means that communities will be in chaos... and eventually supply chains will be too turbulent to function. Its just a question of time. So this is why I'm trying to think proactive by trying to make things that we need in the household.
