Hi All!

I am kind of stunned, so before I really freak out (lol), I thought I better check w the smarties here!

I have had a few egg yikes now, that look to be to be fertilized. I have looked on here and online to find pics of yokes that are fertilized

I have taken pics of the one I think is fertilized and one that I think is not, according to the bull’s eye guide.

Let me know your thoughts, please:)

Pics #1-3 look like they could be fertile, pics 4&5 look unfertile to me.

Are these eggs that your chickens laid? Do you have a rooster?

Here's a great resource!

That is one of the article I have read as well!

So, yes, they are my eggs. I HAD a rooster but had not went to a friends farm. He left our farm 4 MONTHS AGO!!!
There is no way that the rooster juice could still be present??? This is crazy.

Also, yes, first 3 are the fertile pics and last too, one I think are not....

I've heard hens remaining fertile off of the rooster juice for up to 2 weeks, but 4 months would be amazing!

I've learned a long time ago to never say never, so unless one of your hens is a rooster in drag, your girls must have been saving the rooster juice for a rainy day, lol!

“Rooster in drag”. Omg lol, so funny!!!
No, I now have 9 hens and they are all laying!!!!!

I spend a lot of time near them. No crowing, no mounting...!!!

So with talking about this with my husband, I was wrong on the dates. I was thinking we have the roo away in July, but I was waaaay off. It was the first week or two of September. So, maybe that makes the “rooster juice” more believable?
