I need help diagnosing my Cayuga duck. I noticed this on both of her feet today and am unsure what it is. Is this bumble foot or something different? I soaked her feet in Epsom salt and put antibiotic ointment on and wrapped both her feet. I am not too sure what to do to continue her care. She has been eating/drinking and walking completely normal which is why I am just now noticing this. Anything helps, thank you!

Welcome to the site! Sorry to hear about your duck. I don’t have ducks myself, but that seems like an odd presentation of bumblefoot if it is bumblefoot. Could you get some more pictures when you unwrap her feet? Let me tag some duck people for help.

@Miss Lydia @Jenbirdee any ideas on this?

I think @Debbie292d has ducks? I'm also not a duck person.
Had ducks as a kid and take care of two farmers' ducks, but personally don't have any, yet. Bumblefoot is bumblefoot though and I agree, that doesn't look like it. It looks like a fungal growth, but I've not dealt with nor seen anything like this.

@Eggcessive might know?

That doesn't quite look like bumblefoot. Normally it has a scab like what we would have. It could be bumblefoot, but there is something else going on there as well. It would not be unheard of to have two different kinds of infections. One would make it more susceptible to another. Otherwise, I am not sure what is going on here.

Curious, how does the tissue feel? Does it feel like the rest of the foot or is it harder?

wow i feel so bad. I know nothing about ducks but this thread is being *tag people, tagged people tag people, tagged people don't know* 😭

Thank you everyone for the reply’s! Here are some more pictures of what are feet look like. One is worse than the other. It doesn’t seem like bumblefoot to me either, as it does not look like how it normally presents. My other thought is maybe a callus? The tissue feels harder than the rest of her foot.

I have pea gravel in her coop and her and my other duck spend most the day roaming the yard with my 8 chickens. I laid down a good layer of straw yesterday in her coop for a softer surface for her to be on. I also scheduled a vet appointment for her on Sunday.
