This hen is 3 years old, she's been with a flock of 5 birds for years, no one else has this, I believe it's a recent change... she doesn't appear to be blind in either eye as she looks at you out of both sides of her head. She is a happy go lucky, plucky little girl, she eats, drinks, forages, lays eggs etc.
We've recently added some home hatched youngsters, plus we have 17 fluffies that will be added as well as 16 eggs incubating!!

I wonder if it matters that it's only one eye?? Somewhere I read it could be an injury that changes their eye color.
Nothing I've found says whether it affects both eyes and is it going to kill her?

@Eggcessive

You think it's been a recent change?
Let's see what Kim says, she's more knowledgeable about eye conditions than I am.
To me, the Pupil looks sunken. There is also something in the corner of the eye - can you get a better photo of that? For some reason, I don't think it's Marek's but I have no idea what you would call it.

I have been doing some searching for causes of the grey eye besides Mareks, and having a bit of trouble finding info. Usually in Mareks, both eyes (irises) can eventually turn grey, and the pupil can become irregular or pinpoint. With the other lesion that Wyorp Rock pointed out, I think there is a chance that it was from one of the other causes of blindness. Injury, infection, cataracts, vitamin A or E deficiency, avian encephalomyelitis, Mareks, and ammonia toxicity from fumes in droppings are the common causes of blindness.
