Hello, I have 8 birds now and may go to 10 in the future my county max. I was wondering if this coop would be too big its 8x7 and I can get it for 800 bucks. Any issues going this big with a smaller flock?

I think it's actually 48 sq ft if you exclude the nest boxes.Totally agree with @StinkyAcres.
That coop is 56 SQ ft.
Even when you put 10 full size birds in there, recommended is 40 SQ ft. That's a great coop for your max of 10.
Got the coop any tips on disinfecting? His flock was in here 4 days ago. Definitely was full of poop.No such thing as too big of a coop! The more space the happier the chickens will be!
I've never disinfected a coop before but I would clean out and scrape/sand/scrub off all the organic matter and burn it. Then powerwash at least the outside. Then disinfect with a bleach solution or a medical grade disinfectant. I believe @Debbie292d uses Odoban. @Debbie292d, can Odoban be used on unfinished wood?Got the coop any tips on disinfecting? I'm sure it can be used on it but it's like what water would do to unfinished wood. I'd maybe mix a bucket of it and use it with a rag on raw wood. It only needs 60 seconds to kill the bacteria, viruses, diseases, etc., so I'd go behind myself and wipe it dry after a minute.I've never disinfected a coop before but I would clean out and scrape/sand/scrub off all the organic matter and burn it.
