IS YOUR BLACKROCK WHAT SHE SEEMS??

hi , and ive seen so many people mistake miss pepperpot hens for a blackrock! well first some blackrock know hows!

Blackrock: They have brown on their back , neck head and chest and a lot of it! their brown is a lighter sort of caramel brown , nearly orange actually! then the rest of their body id black , they lay medium tinted eggs! and have a lovely personalty , they are not as full as the miss pepperpot though!

Miss pepperpot: They are black with a beetle green sheen , have little brown on them , as its only on the breas , front of the neck and sometimes on the head! they are docile , but can be fiesty but make GREAT pets and fab layers! they lay and live for a long time and often go broody in their older years (1-2+) but can live for 10 years! they have a black ring around their eye giving the eyeliner effect lol and can have bearly noticable black tps on the comb! they only come in the hen version , but when crossed with a blackrock rooster can be bred! the eggs are huge (large duck egg size) and usually white-tinted!



Both hens are great , but very differant , so heres a comparison picture!

I'm a little lost, are these breeds? because they look like black sex links which can have a vast difference in the amount of color each has

they are hybrid breeds. people mistake miss pepperpots for others like blackrocks (black sexlinks) but infact they are a commpletely differant breed , still a hybrid , but not sexlinked as the cross is unique and produces only females

it's a black sex link the males of the breed would be barred the thing is the omlet states that it is the result of a Rhode Island Red crossed with a Maran and a Plymouth Rock and that they are only available as a female, meaning that they will only sale the female half of the breed and not the male portion but all in all that mix creates a black sex link (a layer hybrid)
