Kat’s Journey into Chicken Keeping

When I had my 3 EE,s,, each layed a different color. I would get a light green and light brown, and a darker brown.. Then the color tones did change occasionally. The light brown would turn toward pinkish, and the darker brown would turn toward olive. The light green would also change different shades. My guess,,, it was due to their diet. They always got yard time, with different greens. They also got all our dinner leftovers.. (nothing salty or sweet, mostly vegetable scraps, and some bread)
I miss my EE,s eggs. :frow Now my flock consists of 6 banties, and 3 LF. My Senior Hen is over 10 years old now. She did lay a few eggs this spring.
The Banties provide me with DIET EGGS. :love :gig

Apparently blue! Lucky dog.
I was premature in my complaining! The very next day there was a beautiful blue egg in the nest box!
They are 23 weeks old so I guess they only just started laying. I have 12 new layers so I haven’t figured out who is laying what.
