My 2 year old hen has a pretty bad eye problem. I'm pretty sure its from bullying. I'm looking for advice on how to diagnose and treat her eye. The photos from the coop are from 24 hours ago. The photos in the kennel are from tonight, it seems like the swelling has gotten slightly worse.

Poor girl!

General care is to open the eye the best you can, flush generously with saline, push out any debris or pus, then put Terramycin eye ointment In the eye. Repeat flushing/ointment and removal of pus a couple of times a day.

You may have to work on the pus in stages, if she gets stressed let her rest. A warm compress can also help loosen the pus up a bit too. It will not dry up on it's own, it has to be removed.

Does she have any other symptoms? Infection in the ears, lesions or Canker inside the beak. Coughing/sneezing?

Thank you so much! This hen in particular is terrified of me, so hopefully I can manage to get the job done :)
Try loosely swaddling her in a towel or piece of cloth to help hold her wings to her body. You'll be able to handle her easier that way too.

Give her breaks if she gets really stressed and work on the eye in stages.

Stress is terrible, so she may also benefit from some electrolytes or a bit of sugar water after you work on her. Provide plain water too.

Keep us posted on how she's doing.
