How big are the leghorns eggs compared in size compared to other breeds?

My Pearl White Leghorn hens lay eggs that are about medium to large. Almost the same size as my Red Star Hens. Though the Leghorns are under a year, about 6 months old, and the red Stars are 1 year old.

I've been tracking the weights of the eggs from my various chicken breeds, and the rose-combed brown leghorn's are significantly smaller than the others... like 45-47g while my Araucanas' can be upwards of 59-64g.

and i agree my 1 year old red star, is a true star

she lays super large eggs

i stopped weighing them as i can look at them and tell the weight and everyday she lays nothing less then 70 plus grams


largest one weighed from her was 82grams

Mine is a hybrid Leghorn (Ideal 236) her egg is consistently 1.9 to 2.0 ounces which in the USA is medium to Large..... (large sized eggs begin at 2.0 oz

I have a Leghorn that was given to me already laying. She is about a year and a half old, and almost daily she gives us a three ounce egg. Today, she gave us a FOUR ounce egg! It was huge! She is an amazing layer!

Our white leghorn is about 9 months old and consistently lays an egg a day between 67 and 70 grams. Absolutely massive eggs for a chicken that's so very small.

There are many types of leghorns. I always buy true white leghorns. They have always produced extra large or heavier eggs for me. My current two may take off one day every two weeks.

How big are the leghorns eggs compared in size compared to other breeds?

My average egg from my 2 lil leghorn hens are 2.35 oz.
In the pics are the 2 largest so far, a 3.10 oz. and a 3.30 oz.
In the pic with the 3 eggs, the top one is 2.30 oz and the one on the right is 2.35 oz, and the one on the left one is the 3.30 oz.

I've never weighed my eggs, but my one leghorn lays large eggs. They're consistently my 2nd largest eggs. The only hen I have who often beats her is my amber link.
