This chick was also in my box of "mixed chicks". This one was moving fast and difficult to photograph! Any guesses on the breed or gender would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for trying to identify this one. If I should post pictures showing wings or other features close-up, just let me know.

I'm seeing a crest as well.
It looks like one of its feet has 5 toes? Actually 4 toes, with one of the toes having an extra toenail? This would be considered 5 toes (poorly), and would mean it is a silkie mix, combined with the crest.

Thanks for helping me out here. When I take a close look at its feet, I don't see an extra toenail. There must be a shadow in the picture. Are silkies the only breeds with crests? (I'm very new at this...)

There are other breeds with crests and five toes. Being it is normal feathered, it is probably not a silkie or could be a silkie cross. For color, to determine if it is lavender or blue, look at the quill on the wings. If the top of the wing has a white quill, it is lavender - the underside will be blue/black quill. If the top of the quill is blue/black, then it is blue for color.
