I have a very healthy girl, incredible appetite, alert and fine otherwise, (no bumble no worms/mites) who has been limping for a few weeks. I treated her for scaly mites as I noticed a raised scale. It went away after a soapy leg soak and applying veggie oil. The last week she’s gone quickly downhill, from limping to barely being able to walk. She uses her leg to try to place her foot on the ground as though her foot fell asleep and if she’s standing her toes are curled in on the bad leg. I also noticed her foot is warm. I’ve been doing epson bath soaks, putting castor oil and wrapping her leg lightly with gauze and ace the last 3 days and I carry her out of the coop in the morn so she doesn’t fall down the ramp. She stays put where ever I leave her and move her around to be with her sisters so she doesn’t get lonely in a cage. Please help! I’m going away on Tuesday for work and can’t leave my mom to deal with this. Thank you in advance!

Get pictures if you can . . .I'm still new, but others maybe able to help.

Yes, pics would help. This may be the flaming obvious, but have your closely examined her feet, from her toes, inbetween toes, up her legs. it would be she has a splinter somewhere...
Yes examined her leg and foot with a fine toothed comb! Can’t find anything wrong, no swelling, although I’m not entirely sure what that would look like on a bony leg. Will take some photos now.

Can you get a video of her actions?

How old is she and does she lay eggs?
What do you feed, including treats?

I’ll take a video although she sits most of the day and I’ve been moving her around to be with her sisters. She’s 2 years old and although she’s manages to climb into the box haven’t seen her lay. I feed them country organic with access to it all day, and also soak it overnight so they get a little fermentation. Snacks are hard boiled eggs, raw eggs, vegetables. All organic and access to baked egg shells for grit. She has a very healthy appetite

If she is not laying she may have some sort of reproductive disorder, such as salpingitis or egg yolk peritonitis. Is her lower belly under her vent larger that the others? Does she waddle around, and prefer to sit most of the time? Those can be signs of the reproductive issues. What do her droppings look like? Are the normally white urates in her droppings yellowish? Pictures help. How does her crop feel first thing in the morning before she eats or drinks? Videos of her walking if you help her stand up, can be uploaded to YouTube with a link posted here.

OK, that's good news. Is it possible she fell, or sprained something running,...?
It’s definitely possible. I’ve since lowered the roost even though they have a platform inside and outside the coop entrance.
