I’ve got a full incubator, it’s a little Giant styrofoam forced air one, the two thermometers in the Bator read 99.5, as does the digital one, but when I check it against my digital human thermometer it reads a bit low 96-97 degrees. Is this too awfully low? Should I try to adjust it up?I’m dry incubating this time and running 48-60% humidity. Last hatch I had some major humidity issues towards the end. I don’t want a spike in temp to accidentally cook them, but also want them to hatch ok. Today is day 8 and I will be candling tonight.

The little ones with the plastic backings, the heater is turning off at the preset 99.5 but the human medical one is reading 96-97 degrees in at egg level

The little "mercury" type looking ones, with the numbers printed on the plastic backing? Those are meant to be calibrated. Using ice
with some water is the easiest way. Put them in that for a minute or so and then be sure the reading lines up to 32 degrees.

They are probably off, the digital human one is accurate... I’m just worried if I up the temperature on the incubator digital control that a spike could kill the eggs.

48-60% humidity is not a dry hatch.

Do you have at least one calibrated thermometer?

That’s what I’m at with our relative humidity... Pacific Northwest rain... I haven’t added any water to the incubator If I do it will spike the humidity to 80+%

You will have to keep a close eye on the bator if you change the temp.
Check it often. Hourly.
