Hello, I just got some new chicks and I just wanted to see what people thought about what sex one of them is? They are a week old and were bought as a calico princess. So it should be a pullet because of the autosexing coloration. My inquiry is because their wings and tail feathers are growing much slower than my other chicks. I know this isn’t a for sure way of sexing. But it’s my first calico princess and I wanted to see what others thought and their experience. Here are some pictures of her, the other autos chicks I have have longer wings and already show a quarter inch or so of tail feathers. Thank you for your help!

I should clarify, I’m wondering if they are in fact a Pullet and if they seem to be a calico princess. Other pictures I’ve seen of them don’t have stripes on their back

Wings and tails don't indicate genders
X2 and nothing really will at 1 week old.
Except of course with sex links and autosexing breeds.
CPs are hybrids or were last I heard so they could be sex links but I wasn't aware they were supposed to be.
Idk where you got them from but if it was TSC or a feed store they most likely came from Hoover's. Hoovers were the first to sell hybrids under that name and I know they've changed the formula since they started and I know they hardly ever get breeds right anyway so unsure if they are CPs.

I've got 3 calico pekins, and the coloration is completely different on 2 of them, so we'll both have to wait and see if we got what we ordered!

And nuthatched is dead on. We had a chick that grew wings and a tail WAY faster than everyone else, and she just ended up being the slowest to lay.

Yes, what your showing looks right. From what I know they are supposed to be a sexlink. They are a cross between a Light Sussex and a barred RIR. White chicks are males and everything else is female. I got four and two were light and two were darker with chipmunk stripes. Now that they are feathering in three look similar while one of the lighter ones is primarily white winged with some red. Kind of concerned it might be a cockrel but time will tell. Here are a few pics of mine and also a diagram showing the genetics.
