I seem to be having a pest problem myself dog gon, i swear! I wish you the best in whatever decision you make.
I know responses like this dont answer any questions for you but, youre not alone and, were all here. Weve all been there. Its such a sad, sad thing.
Ducks are very, very different from chickens but, they can grow to be the best of friends or, a happy loner duck. The choice is truly yours. As long as its happy
My heart is with you, friend! Hang in there. I'm right along with ya!

Thank you so much. I never thought I'd feel such heartache for my ladies and I'm so glad to hear there are other people out there who care the same as me ❤️

Is anyone sure it was a dog? I don't think her post mentioned a dog, did it? O:
If they are free-range it could have been ANYTHING. Night-predators such as raccoon, fox, possum, skunk, coyote, and owl will all kill and eat your birds. Hawks and other birds of prey are a huge threat as well.
If they are kept in a coop/run, check for signs of digging, or gaps, tears, and weakness in the fencing. Predators are very determined and will figure out very intelligent ways to get into a coop.
Think like a fox! Lol

And if it is a dog, call your local animal control or contact the owner of the dog if it has one. If worse comes to worse I'd shoot it, but that would be my last resort. I'd do everything I could to prevent that.

I'm sorry to hear of the attacks on your birds. I wish you luck!
It’s not in the post but one of the tags for the post is “attacked by dog.”

Oh, I gotcha. I don't read those usually.. >_<
Has the dog actually been seen?
If not, it could still be another predator. Hawks, and even cats kill chickens sometimes.

My sister had a neighbor's dog kill her turkeys and chickens. The hawks carried the guineas away. The fox did the rest. o_o
