Maybe I should rename this thread NR 360! Hahaha thankyou all for teaching me when the rest of the internet just doesn't seem to have all the nitty gritty details.
My questions for today are:
1.) Why does the humidity drop from 50 down to 24 during the night?!
2.) My eggs arrive today!!! (YAY). When they arrive? Do I take them out of the packaging? Do I set them point down in an egg carton?
3.) Any preincubation advice or knowledge?
Ahhh! The adventure finally begins! :wee

Lol! Yay!!!
1.) Is your water port emptying or something? That happens to me too sometimes, especially if the RH in your house drops overnight. 24 isn't too bad though. I wouldn't worry about it.
2.) When they come, they probably will come in or at least with an egg carton. Very carefully open the box and unpackage the eggs. If there's any damage take pics. Then, candle them carefully. Look at the air cells, are they saddled? Small? Big? Perfect? You want nice, small, perfectly round, and in the fat end, air cells. Watch for any hairline cracks or dents from shipping. Either toss these, or patch them.
Mark any perfect eggs with pencil, and make a check mark or something. Any saddled ones you can just write an s for saddle on, and and detached do a d. Then put an X on one side of the egg (in the middle) and an O on the opposite side so you can make sure they're being turned. Then put them in an egg carton, fat end up, and let them rest at room temp for 8 hours, or overnight. Then set them in. Make sure your turner is properly working too.
3.)....I guess I kinda already answered this. Lol.
How many eggs are you getting, and what breed?
Exciting!!! :celebrate

Awesome! Yes, I need to refill my water...
They just arrived! They gave me 30 eggs and I am just letting them sit over night.
One thing, a video said they must incubate pointy side down? Thats not really possible in an NR 360... sooo does it matter?
Finally:
Coturnix! And I got the tuxedo mix from myshire!

Yay! Do they all look intact? No, don't incubate upright. Some do, but I'm not a fan of it. It's just sooo unnatural. They'll do great on their sides. Tuxes are awesome.

Yes all intact!
Btw im moving all my questions to a thread that is not weirdly named magicfly hehehe
(Note: I started posting a new thread for all my questions and decided it was over kill. Now I am simply gonna post questions and updates on one thread! Welcome friends! I thank all of you who have already given me help and advice as I begin my quest into this new hobby! Hopefully someday I can be as knowledgable as you.)
The Quail-venture Begins!!!!!!!
Finally! The eggs arrived from myshire farms yesterday! I left the lil things to sit over night and began the work of placing them in the incubator this morning. I say "work" because it really a task I did not expect to be so tedious. The NR 360 has 22 spaces for chicken eggs and I received 30 quail eggs in the mail.... so my problem was to both find enough space for all the eggs and keep them from rolling end over end when the auto turner spun. After demolishing a cheezit box and some tap work, I had my stunning set up for quail... I just have to hope it survives to day 15!
My current plan is to let those babies sit until day 9 (although I am not sure if I should do earlier) and then candle. Maybe I should candle on day 5 and then bucket test on day 15? I am not sure. I have a few days to let the opinions start rolling in though hahah.
Again, I thank this community for all its support! Until next time! :wee

(Note #2: This is my DIY quail fix for the NR 360:)
