maine chickenstock!! pictures of the event!!

OH my gosh - I go away for 5 days and this wonderful event starts getting planned in my back yard! (LOL)

Okay it's 45 min away for me - I'll be there with bells on and hopefully freshly hatched chicks for sale! WOO HOO!!

Okay - If the food thing falls through, my girl scout troop could be convinced to do it too. I can also donate to the raffles - will come up with some cute items w/ chickens on them - towels for the kitchen and maybe even an apron (child size maybe adult too) I'll get back to you on the raffle specifics.

Let me know what you need me to do. I can probably get other donations locally once we know the exact specifics.

I have material to make little cloth bags/purse and I plan on putting wheat, oat, some thing edible for our chicken pals.

That's a cute idea!! Do you want to pick up a bag of scratch or something to put in the bags?

Do we have a table?? We need tables!!! Is there a local HS, or organization that we can borrow tables from or are people going to bring their own? Something we definitely need to figure out.

I would hope people would bring their own - I have one that could be used for the raffle (it is not the best looking but can put a cloth over it).

OH I am very excited that this is so close this time!

Louella, do you buy your grain at Lyman's? I haven't gotten up there to ask them about being vendors or see if they would give a donation yet? I'd love to get them to come, but I don't know if they will as it is on Sunday. They are the only store in the area that I know of that carries organic grain besides regular grain.

I got my last bags at Aubuchon - as my husband works there AND got a discount on the buy 1 get 1 free weekend

had to go with the best deal I could get !!

I was thinking we could ask Lyman's, Agway in Winslow, ?? there are others around - some in Augusta I haven't been to yet.

Agway is out, they weren't interested. Hemphill's has donated, and Knight's is suppose to return my call as he was out for the long weekend. If I don't hear from him today, I will call or stop over on Tuesday. I didn't realize Aubuchon's was carry grain until this weekend when I stopped in for paint. Must have lost my mind at that moment, as I didn't approach them about Chickenstock....bad me.

LOL they started carrying grain mid June - I posted here about the buy 1 get 1 free option - I am not sure I should approach them since my husband works there and I don't want to put any bad light on him - but someone else could

The Manager's name is Greg, and he's really nice.

weird on the Agway thing - but then again it took us (friends and myself) an extra 4 weeks to get our chicks from them so maybe they have a bad chicken taste in their mouth

I'll get my thinking brains in today (HA! Summer vacation here as I'm a teacher - those brains got put away mid June too!) and see what I can come up with for ideas.

Hi. Would anyone mind telling me where it is being held? I am wondering, but can't sit down to sift through to find out right now?
Thanks!
