I’ve got a Marian that appears to have something wrong with 1 of her legs. She just sits in 1 spot and doesn’t move. I looked and didn’t notice any injuries discoloration or swelling. She is about 3 months old and has been on a diet of all flock and oyster shells. All my chicks free range. No sign of predators. Not had any predators in ages. Her toes look like they are curled up. Not sure if that’s a sign of an issue? She is isolated right now & confined to a pet crate. She is eating and drinking good. Still going to the bathroom and it’s solid. Any suggestions or ideas? I hate to lose her she just started laying this week.

First thing I would do is get a B complex or super B complex tablet or capsule (human ones, any brand) that contain riboflavin and thiamine. Give her 1/2 of one daily. You can mix in a small bit of moistened feed if she will eat that, or just pop it in her beak, push it back, and she will swallow it. Riboflavin deficiency is not uncommon, and causes hock sitting and curled toes. Thiamine can cause other neuromuscular symptoms. The B's are very safe, extra will be excreted. I usually just give a whole one, never hurt anybody. See if that helps.

Thanks for the replies.

I read through that article and have a couple different things that can cause this. Going to keep her isolated a couple days and see if there are any changes.
