May hatch along :)

Number 7 hatched! That's 7 out of 10 that went into lockdown. Pretty good for my first hatch. I'll leave the incubator on until day 25 for the last 3 eggs I don't hear anything in them tho.

I'm a little worried none of the chicks seem interested in drinking. I've dipped their beaks several times. Any suggestions?

So, I am going to call it a day with my hatch...going into day 24.

Out of our own Easter egger experiment...I set 22 eggs of varying age. (Just laid to 16 days old)..I had 19 hatch...two got about 1/3 zipped and passed (15 day old eggs) and one egg did not hatch (16 day old egg). 86% hatch rate on our second hatch ( with the only ones not making it being over 2 weeks old at set)... 100% on my first.

Now, my shipped eggs had a very very very rough ride here. I had many air cells detatched. I did however get 3 beautiful Isbars (2 black and one blue), 2 Swedish Flower hens and one Svart hona. So, I am very pleased!!!
That's pretty good! Congrats!!!

Woohoo!!!!! That's awesome! And that gives me hope!

I haven't had anymore pip yet. I fell back asleep this morning because I was up late making sure the temp stabilized, and then got up at 4:15 with my husband...well while sleeping my curious 4 year old went to the incubator and tried to get the chick out and broke my lone turkey egg I was going to set next (buff palm) :( I'm so sad! thankfully the chick is ok...but I am so nervous now that the other eggs might not hatch because the temp got down to 93! :( It was only for an hour or so, but I am so so bummed. Do you think there is a chance they could still hatch?

Yes, The internal temp was higher.

Congrats on your hatch! That's great!

I would try a little sugar in the water... (8x more addictive than cocaine supposedly). The ones who don't drink for me frenzy for the sugar water. Keep dipping the tip of the beak.

Good hatching month for me. Out of 24 bantam chocolate wyandotte eggs 22 made it to lock down and I got 18 chicks. Then out of 14 Jubilee Oprington eggs 9 eggs made it to lock down and 8 chicks so far have hatched. Im scheduled to go into lock down with more Jubilee Orpingtin eggs on the 17th (shipped eggs). Then on the 25th I go into lock down with Tolbunt Polish eggs. Maybe my luck will continue

2 of my poults have/had curled toes, the one I was able to fix with band-aid fabric as a splint but the other I can't figure how to fix. I tried the band-aid fabric but it only straightened the toes somewhat, but when the toes are straight in the splint it can't walk, it just falls down and keeps it's feet straight out the back. And without the splint it can only barely stumble around on its curled up feet curled up like fists. Any suggestions what I can do to help it are greatly appreciated.
