I have a chicken that might have
Osteoporosis. They said to give them “Over-correct ration vitamin D”. So, why question is.

What kind of Vitamin D do I give a chicken?

Thank you so much. This chicken means a lot.
So, I get the tablets or capsules and put them in her water?
Depending on your girl, it'd probably be easier to just feed them directly.

I was saying that if you get something that dissolves in water and dose her using that, it'll be hard to tell how much she's actually consuming. If you put a few tablets down her throat every day, you'll know exactly what she's getting.

Good luck with her.

How many pills do I need to give her for 4 days?
Depends on the size of the pills. Did the vet tell you how much you need to give? Is it supposed to be an ongoing treatment, or a brief cure? (I'm familiar with B, E, and A deficiencies. Not so much D.)

As I said earlier, my best guess is that you should give twice the recommended dose for a healthy chicken. Since a healthy chicken should be getting 3-4,000 IU/kg, she should be getting about 7,000 IU/kg. Next step is to buy the pills and weigh her.

If she weighs 2.2 kg, then she should be getting 15,400 IU/day. If you get 5,000 IU pills, she should get three of them every day.
