Melanotic

hmm. if that is your answer my best bet would be the Sumatra but i base the solely on pictures... may not be a good idea, but with my knowledge of big cats such as the jaguar and the leopard (both species have melanistic mutations, which are what some people call "panthers") i would think it's the java...

just my guess.

Fibromelanosis or hyper-melanism, either word is correct. Melanotic will work too.
There are few or no Ayam Cemani in the U.S. but they can be made.

Silkies and Sumatras have two different types of melanizing genes. So you can put them together, breed for the blackest birds for a few years to get everything homozygous again and there you go. As far as color goes.
Cemani are actually straight combed, so you have that to deal with.

I am currently breeding some Tomaru hens (gypsy faced) to a Fibromelanotic longtail rooster. Some of these chicks are coming blacker than any chicks I have ever hatched. They have white lobes though.

Oh wow! can you post some photos of those!

Okay Chris, you have your answer--now go post it on the other site so everyone else can see the answer, too. BTW, if you looked through the book's sample pages, the information is there (along with the photo).
