Im glad you were able to help the little out.Good luck! I had one like this that I assisted in my last hatch. I basically had to do all the zipping, although I did it very slowly. When it finally got out, there was a section of shell and membrane stuck firmly to its back. It had held the chick in one spot and prevented it from being able to turn and zip on its own.
Yes, the yolk was fully absorbed and the blood vessels fully receded. The chick is 2 weeks old now and thriving.
