Meyer Hatchery: A Raise A long (Black & Blue Copper Marans, Cuckoo Marans, Easter Egger and Olive Eggers Galore)

I sold a pullet this year that was laying these, but just hatched 4 from her eggs to keep the darker eggs in my flock. View attachment 3971153

Here's what my hens mostly lay as far as color. Not the super dark eggs yet but the young pullets are laying slightly darker so I'm moving in the right direction just not as fast as I'd like.

Very nice! Before I moved I had a good set of Wheaten/BCM cross and they were laying a 7/8 on the scale. I'm probably going to phase some of my olive eggers out and might look into grabbing some splash as I have BCM/Blue currently. The Blue's are my most social and relatively happy girls. I really love the rooster we have as he's not too aggressive and keeps an eye out for the eagles we have around.

Will have to see what I end up doing after this winter as I really don't want to have babies in the house. (will see how long that lasts as I really want some splash and geese lol).

I completely understand that. I'm trying to resist the urge to do another hatch here myself but the cold and snow isn't far off.
