It's not easy to find 100% cotton socks, or other clothing.

Buster Brown was still making 100% cotton socks as of a few years ago. I haven't looked since then.

Knittings socks is also still a thing... it is possible to get a better fit and/or style and/or to use a more stretchable pattern to offset not having elastic in them. Natural fibers other than cotton also help with that.

Regular cotton uses lots of poison. Organic is poison free.

I used to buy doona/duvet filled with duck feathers, until I saw it on tv how they plug the weather out of those poor ducks, since then I no longer buy it. I buy those with synthetic material instead now and I am happy with that.

Down is not always gathered when they are slaughtered for meat. Some labels don’t use down from plucked geese.

Oh, I did not know about the poison in normal cotton. So many things are cruelly acquired or poisonous. That is the world we are living in now.

I saw on TV here..a French news channel, a reporter was at a duck farm and the people were plucking feather from a living duck, holding it while plucking its feathers, once they done, they released this duck and it ran to settled with the rest of them already plucked ducks. They all look almost naked, seem like a only a few scattered feathers on them. It seem like a cold day when this was done.

So the down was acquired by plucking living ducks. To me, it is so cruel so I no longer buy anything with real animals stuff, I rather synthetic. We only use the doona/duvet about 4 months in a year.

Edit to say: the reporter was speaking in French, so I only watch the video of her walking in the farm while people are doing the feather plucking of a living duck. There is no subtitle so I did not understand what she was saying.

We are learning just how badly we have trashed our planet, and what it is costing us.

Some refuse to learn. The next generation, and the one after that, will have the lesson driven home.

I didn’t know what IBS is. Abbreviations are often difficult to translate. This one was in oxford’s dictionary. Its something I have too. The doctor thought antibiotics (against Lyme) might have triggered it. I know doctors often don’t know the cause for such pains. A healthier lifestyle with less stress often helps. Easy sports like taking a long walk; Healthy food with lots of fresh vegetables (no UPF); No or very little alcohol. And Asian or alternative healing methods seem to work with a lot of people too.

What makes me sad is that people call it politics if I tell the truth about plastic and chemical pollution, or about the poison used in GMO corn and soy that goes in the chicken feed and other feed for catle.

In the Netherlands, where I live our soil is badly contaminated with PFAS all over the country. Last week the health institute advised not to eat eggs from hobby chickens anymore, because of the risk of excessive intake of PFAS. If its in the soil, and the chickens eat earthworms, plants and whatever grows in and on the soil, it gets in the eggs. PFAS connects to the proteins in the egg.

IBS, irritable bowel syndrome. One type causes diarrhea, one type causes constipation. Sometimes it feels like a large snake is crawling through your guts, not a pleasant sensation.
I have been hearing and reading about heavy metal contamination in toothpaste, as well as microplastics. You just can't escape the horrible stuff. Even toothpaste made for kids has metals and plastics. How can these companies produce stuff like that?

No one in this lifetime will escape them, not even trying. They will disperse with the rest of our atoms.
