MJ's little flock

Remembered with love and sadness.

My life has been a little too hectic for chicken photos this week, I only have the blurry one of Peggy in her bath.

So this jigsaw puzzle is of a special guest species.

Easy and hard (108 pieces).
I have gone down with a nasty cold and am feeling a bit sorry for myself.
A puzzle is just what I need and then back to bed.
Thank you!
I only got up to make sure Tassels got off the nest and had something to eat.

Nice one. Thank you. Is it a picture you took yourself?
I am now more than ready to go back to bed and Nightshade was so excited he wore himself out and is already asleep!

It is, yes. But it's an old photo from a couple of years ago.

Nightshade is a card!

Sorry to learn you're not well. I'm in a similar state and have just taken a couple of cold n flu capsules. Hoping for a little relief.

Two more days of hectic, then I can start unwinding. It's also a hectic weekend with too much socialising planned, but I'm planning a day off on Wednesday.

Christa's moult continues. She has no tail at present and there are new red feathers strewn about the roost when I scoop the poops. Sometimes she looks miserable but I'm putting it down to the moult for now. The nights have been cold and she may be noticing her lack of feathers.

I worry about Mary's eyesight. I think it's slowly letting her down. Every now and then her depth perception isn't right. She's looking great though and seems happy.

Everyone else is flourishing.

The painter did half of the surface prep yesterday and he plans to come back each working day until the job's done. We had another chat about colours to make sure we're both on the same page. There's not much time to think about experimental colour schemes, so I went with a safe choice of heritage colours, with a pop of high gloss pale green on the front doors. It should look nice.
Can't wait to see it finished! You have waited a long time for this.🧡

It was quite a wait for the builder then quite a wait between trades. It didn't help that the project spanned Christmas.

All the surface prep is now finished. The painter's going to do a couple of small repairs to the scotia then start painting.

It's hard to believe the finish line is so close!
