MJ's little flock

Me neither. I've still got everything firmly crossed for some peeps soon. :fl
Me too. But it might be a good moment to form a contingency plan.

Every now and then I think I hear a peep then I realise it's the baby magpie three houses away throwing it's voice to us on the wind.

But Mary said a couple of very quiet and gentle boks a minute ago, so maybe it was a tired chick peeping and not the magpie?

that's a really positive sign!!! Hold on MJ! Just keep sitting on your hands, and wait. Take up knitting or something! :D

Friends, if the eggs don't hatch, what are your opinions on giving Mary day old chicks?
I've no experience but I read of a few on Bob's thread. Sometimes it worked and sometimes not. I would say to only do this if you are ready to raise the chicks in a brooder yourself, with all that it implies, if it doesn't go well.
Personally it's not something I would do because I am not ready to raise chicks without a mum.

I was thinking of that implication too.
