Last year I ordered 25 of Moyers Red Royal Boilers and had what I believe really nice results with great tasting birds. So this year I will do several batches spread out throughout the year. To change things up I ordered 15 Conventional Broilers along with 10 Hatchery Choice Broilers and I also added 2 white leghorns. The hatch date is June 3 so I expect them to arrive June 5th. If you have any questions ask away. I will also post updates as they grow.

Update on what they are looking like @24 days.
All chicks are the same age from Moyers Hatchery. Photos consist of Conventional Broilers, Red Broilers, and White Leghorns. I tried taking side by side photos so you could see the difference.

With the warm temps they are now of heat and spent the first night and full day outside on pasture at 24 days

Here’s a close up. My little white leghorns hold their own against the big conventional broilers. What a size difference. All 3 types born same exact day.

I love the comparison!!!

I’m thinking this fall I’m going to raise all 4 side by side for the same amount of time to compare the carcasses. Conventional, Robust white, royal and imperial.

The Robust white is pretty awesome. They’re built JUST like a Cornish but they are so active and range all over for me.
