Multiple Broodies Question..Oy

Okay, not sure I need to know this yet, but Tux is sitting on a nest, screaming her poufy head off and flattening herself out in a very un-Tuxlike way. I'm not 100% sure this is her actually going broody, but my only broody pen is occupied by her sister Olivia and her just-hatched three chicks. I do have the Firetower coop, but it's about to be occupied by several older chicks I'm picking up from helmstead soon. What to do, what to do!? I'm not set up for multiple broodies. Any ideas? I do have two floor level nests inside the nursery coop that I blocked off so the two and three week old chicks currently residing there couldnt go inside them, but I'm not sure how Tux would react to them nor them to her and new babies. Still, it could be an alternative for me. HELP! How do you people with all these broodies do this?

Oh my I would be in the same boat, If any more go broody.
I my self would just build a new pen or tractor.

Can you section off a small piece of the nursery coop?

I am not lucky enough to have more than one coop

I had a girl go broody a while ago - I tried to just leave her in the coop wiht all the others, but they kept pushing her out, and laying in her nest.

I used those wire cube storage thingies - and built a little cage around her and her nest - big enough space for her to get out, scratch, eat drink and poop...

All the pieces are zip tied together.... the cardboard on top is to keep the others from standing on top and pooping in her food and water.

All of my broodies get moved to a cage of their very own. Then I let them out once in the morning and check again in the evening to see if the want out. This way no one disturbs them and they can hatch their babies in peace....

i will be in a similar situation in the near future. Florence has already gone broody on her mystery egg nest so i put a dog kennel over her. and Pearl has 6 eggs in a nest and probably that many that ive collected so she's probably due any day now and i'll have rig something else up to protect her.

I can beat that-I have 1 in a guinea pig cage in the house~ 3 sharing a big pen(2 of those are in the same box despite my efforts to seperate them and one in a pen with a trio that took over the nesting area.DH better get busy building!

Sounds like my problem.

I'm not ready for more broodies since I have one standard that just hatched a clutch and have one banty sitting right now. They are both in the same room in the coop and I hope there won't be a problem. The banties are due in a week and half.

I have a bunch of banties that think they want to brood. They pile up sometimes 2 or 3 in a box. I just keep picking them, taking the eggs, and putting them on the ground or roost.

Boy do they get mad. They screach, raise their tails, flatten out, and get all ruffled.

Cyn, I had 3 hens go broody all at the same time two weeks ago. I hurridly put together a 3 nest box while they were being pacified sitting on a glass egg. Meanwhile I had to order some eggs since mine were not fertile. Once the eggs arrived and were rested, I then moved the hens during the night to the new nest boxes. I had placed the new nests just outside the henhouse under the covered run and then fenced off a 6 X 6 foot area around them to keep the other hens from bothering them. They are very content and peaceful in their own private maternity ward.
