Just learned something new. There is french white Muscovy. I thought there were just white. I think that must be what I just got too.I've never had the French White just the plain white Muscovy with blue eyes. I had 3 females all solid white they were my first muscovy besides the drake I adopted from the river. They hatched many ducklings but never a solid white.
I almost didn't have ducklings this year at all. I would walk by the TSC ducklings trying to get my fix of cuteness, or possibly torturing myself . And watch all the duckling video and pictures trying to enjoy from a far. It is not the same as holding the little fluff ball. They are gorgeous
Ya'll are really making me want some babies[ducklings that is] lol
Sure isn't the same, I just wanted to make sure I could feed the ones I have with shortages all over the country. I have a Muscovy who has been broody 3X this summer and finally gave up yesterday. She is such a great mommy too. It was sad not to let her sit some eggs. She'll be 11 next May we'll see if she goes broody. Her mama and aunt did this season. She might have to hatch more Runners my drake will be 12 next June not sure he is still fertile.I almost didn't have ducklings this year at all. I can definitely understand that. We have been pretty fortunate with feed. Our local feed store buys from a local mill and has been well stocked. Prices have gone up, which has been the hard thing. Granted I add 9 ducks this year and haven't really been going through food any faster. I couldn't bring myself to even go to TSC when they have chicks and ducklings. @Quatie you were very brave.
Our feed store doesn’t either and thank goodness TSC is 25 mile away.I'm soooooo glad my feed store doesn't have chicks and ducklings! Can you imagine?!?
