So I've been using a large basin for my muscovies to wash themself. It's big enough for 2 ducks but since we have 5 they have to take turns using it. I'm thinking of swapping the basin with a large kiddie pool, but I'm worried that their sharp claws will puncture it. Anyone have experience using kiddie pool for muscovies?

I have no experience with ducks but i have seen videos of people use hard plastic kiddie pools. They do make very large ones im sure if you googled it you could find one that would fit all of them.

I have a plastic kiddie pool near the duck house... they use the stock pond usually but for those in rehab from injury or sitting on eggs, I give them the pool. Also needed the pool this week as the pond iced over.

I replaced our plastic kiddie pool with a bigger rubber pool for my 2 runners. It was pretty cheap and holds enough water so they can dive and swim under water. Its held up well for the past 6 months or so with no tears or holes so far. They just need a step to help them get in and out. Not very pretty and it takes a long time to drain but my ducks enjoy :)

I love this. How often do you have to change the water? Does it take a long time to fill (98 gallons?)
I use a hard plastic kiddie pool bit they are UGLY :(

I usually change the water once or twice a week, since we only have 2 ducks it doesn't get too dirty too fast. It takes about 20 mins or so to fill. I would love to replace the drain plug on the bottom so it would drain faster or figure a way to hook a hose up to it to use the dirty water to water the garden. With all the cold weather it had frozen solid so the ducks are going to have to wait another day or two for it to thaw. Lol, they had quite the surprise when they tried to go for their morning swim and it was totally frozen over :hmm
