I sat here for 20 minutes explaining myself and was DENIED submission ($&@;@&$)!
So now it'll all pop up because I am no longer in the mood to type on this iPhone... (TOLD YA) :he
I am 'stuck' in house as primary care-giver and am out of work at the moment...so these were my 'bright' ideas for my 1602N manual bator...

Total cost: Roughly $5.00

Most expensive item was my $3.84 (600 Lumen flashlight off eBay)

Slushy straw (and aquarium tubing, not shown) for adding H20 w/o opening bator...
Needleless syringe for measured water...
Scrubby sponge for adding humidity...
Dollar store funnel cut off at base...
Aforementioned flashlight...
Cupboard liner, measuring cup and (of course) egg carton...

Does anybody out there have an opinion about using cupboard liner to use on top of wire mesh in bator, in case I get lucky and any live babies 'pop' out to greet me?
Also, now that I am remembering to worry more, I did hours of research only to find out, after the fact, that 'stored' eggs are supposed to be turned at least once a day, which of course I didn't know to do... while I was waiting for bator to stabilize....do you think I did irreversible damage to embryos? They sat for closer to two days...

The shelf liner is used by a lot of people. I wouldn't worry about letting eggs sit, obviously turning is better but I still got a pretty good hatch from eggs that I had been collecting for 9 or 10 days without turning any of them.

Thank you for your reply.
I really appreciate it.
You made it feel more like Friday instead of 7 never ending Mondays!

Take care,

Meg
