So I had two ducks, a few weeks ago the male attacked my female duck and sadly she hasn’t been able to walk since, it looks like her tail feathers were ripped out and she has since stopped bleeding but her butt still has no feathers and she still struggles to walk let alone stand still. I immediately separated them but I don’t know what to do to help, I’ve cleaned her and often spray Blue Kote on the wound but it’s been three weeks and she doesn’t seem to be improving very much.
I’ve checked her feet and legs multiple times for injuries and have been adding niacin and oyster shell to her food but nothing else seems to be working.

it might require more time depending on the injuries. Pictures would surely help

Did you see your drake attack your female? Never have known of a drake attacking and pulling out tail feather. Feathers on neck and face and head yes. Could it have been a predator? Has your drake been aggressive like this before?
What type of niacin are you using and why are you adding oyster shell to her food? just give her a small dish with some in it and let her use it as she needs it.

They are indoor ducks so they only interacted with each other. I have seen him be aggressive with her (and with myself) and had assumed he would be even more so due to mating season. I added oyster shell supplement from TS to help her feathers.

Can you take her to a vet to understand what she needs in order to heal? A male needs at least 4 females so that they don't get hurt/overmated. You may need to rethink your situation. It's not in the best interest of ducks to be raised indoors. What they need and love is an outdoor situation where they can forage and swim. If you can't provide this you might want to consider rehoming them, if you truly care about what's best for them.

Like others have stated, that seems very aggressive for a drake, especially towards a duck hen. I'd be very concerned for her. I have a drake that *I* consider aggressive towards a duck hen but it's nothing like this. In my opinion, it'd be wise to separate them before he injures her further. Does she have enough space to evade his advances and aggressions? My duck hen gets away from my drake fairly easily, even if he corners her (they are Call Ducks). I'd have to really consider the options here because your duck hen is probably terrified. Now, if your hen was injured at some point and unable to get away from him, I could see this a little easier maybe (still really sad for her). That could be why, but then again, I'd be worried about trusting him with her again. I'm not saying he is an awful drake, so please don't think that. I wouldn't trust him with one hen again. If they're inside, is space an issue? I'm so sorry your having to deal with this, but hopefully you've got some time to figure this out if you separate them. I wish you the very best with them and hope your hen improves quickly.

What kind of niacin are you using and how? Do you see any swelling or feel any heat coming from her feet up to her legs. You'll need to get her moving around as soon as possible. How long has she been unable to walk? Have you felt along her neck and spine to see if she reacts in pain to anything or if anything feels different to you? If he is still able to get at her, maybe he is doing further damage. Hopefully he's unable to reach her. I agree that an experienced Avian vet would be her best bet at this point. Poor hen. What breed are they and how old?
