Congratulations! Isn't it exciting?

I got my first egg a month or so ago. I have 6 hens and average about 5-6 eggs a day. But today they only laid 3!

Oh well! I suppose they need a break sometime!

Thanks all for the nice congrats! It really is egg-citing! I just love my chickens and it is only one week with the new egg laying going on and I have a carton full!! Ha... plus now adventures in the roosting box!

I have 5 hens, 1 white Brahma, Peri (short for periscope because she is one), 1 Buff Off, Cami (short for Camille, she the queen bee) and 3 Barred Rocks, Pam, Sue and Margo... they are the sweeties.

The were hatchlings I rec'd 4-1-11 so they are April fools... to boot. They keep me entertained with their crazy antics in the yard and their maruading of the gardens... If you have read about Barbara they are on the same mission as her, to make sure that no mulch remains intact in the garden!
