My first quilt

I have finally finished my first quilt.

It took me about two months, working off and on to piece it. Then, when I found out how much it would cost to have it machine quilted, I had to wait about a year before I could get it quilted. It is 114" by 113, so it is a large king-size quilt. Why I thought I had to start that large I do not know!!!

I tried to machine quilt it on my sewing machine but I just could not handle the size of it. I could have never done it by hand because my shoulder would not have held up to that. Anyway, the quilt shop here got a new long-arm quilting machine last year so I had the lady there do it. I am so proud of it. What do you think? Oh, and ignore the bed skirt. That goes with the comforter I had on the bed.
