I am an American Gamefowl fanatic! I love the breed and all the color varitations! They are truly beautiful birds. I am a breeder of American Gamefowl but at times I am guilty of mixing breeds for just to see what happens. For instance, I am breeding my EE rooster to a SLW hen just for the pretty color lacing that is possible. In saying this, I am familiar with both AGF and mixed breed chickens.
Now here is the problem. I have a young hen (from last march) who appeared in all manners to be an AGF hen. I truly think that she is mixed with something else. I did not breed the parents of this hen nor hatch the egg. She came to me from another breeder who said she was a Speeder Grey AGF. At the time I swore it to be true. Her appearance is to round to be AGF (pure AGF hens are lean) and she is lays to many eggs to be AGF (one a day). Personally I think she is part Heavy-Breed egger but I have no idea what kind or how it would be possible (the breeder only has AGF) So I am asking for the help of BYC....What is this mixture? Any wild guess would help, too.
Information about the hen:
Comb: Pea
Egg Color: Cream
Weight: approx 6-7lbs
