Here is what I'm thinking about:

The maxamuim amount of rabbits I'm wanting is 9, with that being 3 bucks, and 6 does. But I know I'll have more. Lol, I'm starting off with 3 rabbits a blue otter trio hopefully.
Pic 2&3 are the play pen area.
My plan is to keep it under $400, does that seem reasonable? With 3 $24x24x16 cages, 3 $5 water bottles, 1$15 bag of rabbit feed, 2 bags of $6.50 pine shavings. What I'm I missing?

Sounds good I can't think of anything right now, except some extras that you may or may not already have for your Mini Rex's. Do you have some kind of record keeping book? I just have a diary which I keep all the dates rabbits were bred etc. in. Just a thought I'll post more later, when I have more time

I keep records. I keep note of day she was bred, what doe and buck I used, how old the parents were, day of palpating, day she had her baby's, how many baby's there are, how many died, my gues of who's sex and who's color. Date of any deaths, date of weaning, date of any being sold, tattoo #, final color, final sex, and how much each was sold for. And I'm trying to make pedigrees for them to, but haven't got there yet. Mom likes my play pen idea. she hate animals in small places. The play pen is going to have tunnels a digging area( I'm going to make a slope/mountain type area in the pen) and there's going to be food and water for them with salt licks and obsticals jumps, I'm going to start drawing it out. Does it sound good? I might see if I can make a horse stall in it for the min horse mares I might be getting.

Hello! I know this thread is a bit old but I have a question regarding a black otter buck I received at the end of March. Within a week of bringing him home he started salivating excessively. Since Ive taken him to the vet and have scheduled a dental to have his molars filed. Originally I was interested in showing and breeding but I'm thinking if he has dental issues he may not be the best for breeding. If this is the case I'll plan on neutering him when he goes in for the dental procedure. Just curious what everyone's opinion is????

If it's helpful he's just over 2 yrs old. Thanks!
