Hello Everybody,
My name is Jonathan and my wife Megan and our 4 kids are still newish to the poultry game. I've gleaned much information from BYC for months now but finally registered. We currently have 16 chickens half of them born in early January and half born in mid March, and 2 Embden goslings that are a month old.
Our original flock that we got in January has 7 chickens as follows
(1) Barred Rock, (2) Lavender Orpingtons, (3) ISA Browns. (1) Rhode Island
Then we were hooked and at the end of March we got 8 more birds. (1) Blue Laced Gold Wyandotte, (1) Columbian Wyandotte, (2) Starlight Green Eggers, (2) Silver Lakenvelders, and (2) Cinnamon Queens.
We ended up getting a single Calico Princess to replace a lost one from the original flock. They are all integrated together now and doing fantastic. I built the chickshaw as made popular by Justin Rhodes and our family and the chickens love it.
We also got two "guard geese" which are White Embdens and they are the sweetest.
I look forward to learning more from everyone on BYC and hearing about your flocks.
