Hi, I'm new here. I'm usually more of a lurker but idk.
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
I got my first batch last February so I've had them for over a year now!
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
6 in the coop, 5 in the brooder.
(3) What breeds do you have?
Coop: 2 Australorps, 2 Buff Orpingtons, 1 Silkie, and 1 old English game bantam rooster.
Brooder: 1 Barnevelder, 2 BBS Orpingtons (looks like a blue and splash), 1 Welsummer, 1 BBS Ameraucana
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens?
They're cute and have personalities that brighten my day. Especially when they peck at the back door for treats.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Painting miniatures (for Warhammer, D&D, and display), video games, knitting. Reading, though not as much anymore.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I've been married 5 years now. Got two cats + a snake, and we both WFH.
(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community?
After a year of googling chicken questions and getting results from here and reddit, I figured it was time to join.
