New Member / Muscovy Ducks in Florida

Hello, my name is Daniel and I live in Florida just outside Tampa. There are several lakes in the community where I live, and the lake I live closest to has several Muscovy ducks that live nearby, which is to say that they spend their days and nights on the shores of the lake, and also spend time during the day on the lake. I believe they are “domestic” ducks, but several of them are capable of flying from one side of the lake to the other, albeit with what appears to be a great deal of effort! I live directly on the lake and see a lot of the Muscovy interactions, which I find very interesting and intriguing, which is why I joined this forum. Welcome to BYC and cute photos! I'm not a duck expert but as a fellow Floridian, my understanding is that muscovy ducks that people dump will interbreed with other ducks in the area.

I've heard Muscovies are the only duck breed I can trust here as we have a creek behind our home and most would swim too far eventually, but they never would. I hope sometime to get some of those. Yours are gorgeous!
