Normal to have 3 hatched and others without pips?

We are on our first hatch. We had 7 eggs. Yesterday around noon (so 18ish hours ago) I saw the first pip. By the nighttime, there were 2 more with pips. At this point, I have 2 fully hatched, 1 zipping, and 1 more pipped. My remaining 3 eggs have no pips or anything. Is this normal? Is it likely that they will pip and hatch too?

Yup, some babies are just a bit slower. Sometimes there's cooler spots in the incubator and such that can delay a couple sometimes. I get them too. I wouldn't worry about it yet. Congrats on your chickies!

I don’t have an answer for you. I have a hatch going on now as well. One hatched this morning at about 5am (its now 11am) none of the other eggs show any signs. I set in 27 eggs.

try playing chicken noises? one of my friends a few weeks ago was hatching chicks for bio and he said he saw it in a video somewhere. (only one fully hatched out of 8 at this point). he played the chicken noises on repeat and left to go to two classes and by the time he got back, 2 more had hatched. he left it overnight and now he has 6 beautiful baby chooks. (the other 2 started pipping but we think they mightve not developed egg tooths or wernt strong enough to hatch.)

I wouldn't do it, rushing the chicks can cause them to hatch with unabsorbed yolk sacs. They know what they're doing, don't worry! The ones that pip last always hatch the fastest. Mine that don't pip until the end always pip and hatch in a matter of 45 minutes or so. Just leave them be, they'll be out soon!

To update, 4 of 7 have hatched. I have one more pip. Still nothing from the other 2 eggs😔 I hope to see a pip or something soon. My daughter realllly wants our blue egg to hatch. It’s been 27 hrs since I saw the first pip, 13 hours since the first chick hatched. Though the last one to hatch was only about 1.5 hrs ago. I sure hope my last 3 can make it!

I hope they pip! They might just be late quitters unfortunately. There's not much you can do until they pip. Fingers crossed!
