Normal wattles?

It's not the wattles. I think this looks more like the lower beak is deformed so the chick's tongue is slipping down into the throat which is causing that bump out you see below the beak. Trying to remember... someone had a thread a few days ago about a similar case...

Ok so I went out and gently pushed on the bump and sure enough her tongue popped out. I can't afford surgery and the thought of culling her breaks my heart. No idea what to do now

Unfortunately I don't think the prognosis is good... it's honestly better to put them down while they're still doing ok, than letting it starve to death.
