OHio ~ Come on Buckeyes, let me know your out there!

Hi Debbie , they are all pure Rouen. The size is very consistent they are large and don't fly they are in eclipse plumage now so the two males don't have their full-dress feathers quite yet This heat is killing me.
Amen to that Mark, it will be worse today than yesterday so the bus will be brutal again. I picked out a duckling from Rural King that was marked like a Rouen but quit getting as big as my boys were. It is starting to sound a little raspy though and is 5 weeks old so now I am afraid I might have a male Mallard. It had the double eye stripe and was in a bin for mixed ducklings but did have the back toenail on the right foot removed. I am happy you were able to get so many females. I don't know if a female can sound sort of raspy at this age or not or if I am just dreaming it might be a gal. Have a wonderful day Mark. Stay cool!!!

How's everyone doing today? Other than being stung 5 times, by yellow jackets yesterday, and going through anaphylactic shock, I've been doing well. Haven't been here in a while and just wanted to say hello!
So sorry to hear that this happened to you Knobby. I have been ok. A coon got two of my ducks last week, my Wood duck that I just loved and a Khaki Campbell, both females of course. I went to TSC and bought 4 of their big pens and they are coming today so hopefully we can get everything under tighter security before anything else happens. I hope you are feeling better. I have a tooth that is going to be pulled tomorrow and I can hardly wait, plus working every day so hopefully we can get the pens built before too long. It was good to hear from you!!! Have a good day.

Sorry to hear about your loss! I am still trying to wrap up the building of my new coop and run, but my recent incident put a damper on my schedule. I'm used to it though..been stung every year for the past 7 years now, and each time, had to go to ER. Been stung 7 times, while working on installing a roof, 22 times while tossing firewood onto my pile (went blind for 30 minutes), 11 times while mowing at the metroparks, and the counts continue..lol. I should be immune to the stings by now, but I've gotten allergic instead.

Getting ready to take in 2 more roosters later on in the day. Someone contacted me last night and we are arranging for me to pick them up once I finish transferring my old data from my phone to the new replacement.

So sorry you have been stung so many time Knobby. Do you carry an Eppi pen with you? I know I spelled that wrong. As bus drivers we take classes about them for kids on the bus that get stung. The bees seem to be bad this year and it sounds like you have developed a severe allergy being stung that many times. You are such a Godsend for taking in those male birds. I hate to see them get eaten but I know that is what a lot of people have to do with theirs. It is great that you can keep them from fighting having so many of them. I knew another guy that lived quite a ways for me and he had a whole dog pen full of them and they did not seem to bother each other. I don't know how he did it. I hope that you feel better soon and have a good day.

Yeah, I have to carry an Epi pen with me at all times, but those things hurt when I have to inject myself.. The roosters are easy to take care of..I tend to isolate each one, for a brief time, to let them see the other roosters. Then I let them loose and let the pecking order take place. If they get too aggressive with one another, I separate them and repeat the whole process until they can live in harmony with one another.

Do you have a lot of them right now? That's great that you can put them altogether eventually. I never realized Epi pens hurt. They never tell us that part when they are training us on the use of them. Sorry you have to deal with this.
