This is my friend Pato. She is a 2 y/o happy Pekin, but after her first big molt, she hasn't lost her flight feather quills.

And now she has a broken quill. I touched it and she didnt seem to notice, I gently held onto it as she walked away, and she tugged it out of my hand without reaction. So she can't feel it.

I've been looking for a solution since her 2nd molt, when they never fell out. Anyone?
.

Its just going to take time, the feathers will fall out on there own. Pulling them is not a good idea because it can harm her and the base of the feather. I would wait it out, since Pekin don't really fly there isn't a ton of concern. Also in my experience, the flight feathers are the last to go in a molt.

There has been at least 2 full molts while retaining these. How many molts until they come off?

I am having the same issue with one of my Pekin girls. I think it's been about a year now, and she still has these. I was actually just looking to see if there were any suggestions about what to do about it.
