Only the head left - help!

Yes that's a good idea. I'll start looking for a premade coop + run so I can get it set up quickly. The predator is already here feasting on the carcasse as I type. It's a protected species too, so I can't do much about it :he

Can you make a coop /run combo to keep your chickens safe? With a secure run, you chickens will be safe all day as well as times when you are not home to lock them in. There are alot of ways to build something like this, look in the coops forum.

Now that your predator has had a meal, it will be back looking for more.

Is it a Cape Genet? Like this? I was curious so I looked it up. Interesting creature.

We're lucky here. If a predator is killing our livestock on our property we can shoot them even a dog. There may be some exceptions. Several years ago we had a severe skunk infestation. The local wildlife officer advised me that under FL law I may kill any animal attacking livestock. By state law it is "ok" to kill a predator with no recourse as long as it is in the act of harming livestock. However federal law protects all birds of prey and migratory species.
