Wow, guys, thanks a million for all these great suggestions! I truly feel like I've joined some sort of cool, secret society, that I never knew existed before. And all that thanks to a handful of chickens who came into my world almost 5 months ago and completely changed it around. Awesome! We'll let you know what we decide (I'm leaning towards barn-red, myself, with some artsy input from the kids).

I love barn red and white trim - it seems so official. Of course, my coop is not painted yet - but I have the barn red and white ready....LOL

By the way, in case you're wondering: those are golfballs in the nesting boxes, to give Frieda some ideas of what to do in there....

Really nice wee housy! I say stay away from barn red - chickens don't traditionally stay in barns so ... I like the idea of a nice strong blue with grey trim. Or something wild if it doesn't detract from your home - brilliant blue and orange for instance. Perhaps this is because I love the houses in Halifax, Nova Scotia and St. John's, Newfoundland - all wood painted wild colours. And oh yes - Dingle, Ireland. hmmm....
