Our first call duck incubation adventure (hatch-a-long)

So had a small crisis…power went out at work so I had to take a break and head back to the farm to check on the eggs. Sure enough our power was out, put blankets on the incubators (I am also unsuccessful hatching turkey eggs right now too…out of 40 eggs I received only 20 progressed and only see like movement in 3 …but I digress)

Just as I was planning on placing hot hands in the incubator and hubby got off the seeder to pull out the generator…power came back on! Phew! It was less then half an hour below 96F so

Power outages are so stressful! I'm glad it is back on already. Just 30 minutes, I would think that would be about the same as a duck getting off the nest to eat and drink a bit. Hopefully all is well!

I peaked at a couple this morning but it was Day 14 for my turkey eggs so had to make some decisions on the clearly non-starters. If I get the chance I will take a few more pictures tonight during their cool down period.
