Good luck with your first honey extract tomorrow. DH and I took a class in beekeeping years ago and then it never worked into our plans. So I'm interested in hearing all about how the bees are working out for you.

Thank you! I'm so thankful that I had her in my life over 60 years. Still miss her tremendously though. Our granddaughter is a sweet little firecracker...lol

The bees are very cool. Maybe you guys can take it up at some point. I'll start a thread about them.

Well, I cannot imagine you without a Campine!

I love frizzles! I've always wanted one. I have 2 lavender Orpingtons and one of them has some curly feathers. I don't think she's a true frizzle, but I think she's adorable. I also finally got 2 Cream Legbars, they are so cute.

I'm trying to attach some pictures, but it's not working at the moment.

I love where I am & I have so much more useable land. About 5 years ago my husband had a psychotic episode & threatened to kill everyone & everything. I had to leave without anything but 2 cats & 20 chickens! It took ages as he refused to accept responsibility or accountability but I finally got my division of property & was able to relocate. I am in a good place. My flock is smaller but now I have the rooster I hope I can close it & raise my own chicks. I'd love a legbar! I have lots of booted frizzled bantams.

And yes, he's a frizzled booted bantam!

This is Cobweb, one of my new girls.
She's a complete nutter.
Our temps are dipping below 0c. some nights & this insane girl has decided to sit. Not on eggs, mind you. She just wants to sit in a nesting box & contemplate her navel!​
