I have Partridge Chanteclers. Last year I ordered some from Hoovers to add fresh genes. Some aren't Chanteclers. I sent pictures to the hatchery and asked if the Chanteclers had been outcrossed and they said no, those were Partridge Rocks and someone made a mistake. I'm still not entirely convinced that is true. 4 have badly formed single combs, small heads and one has a peacomb, and they are much lighter in feather color, earlobes are white and feet and shanks aren't exactly yellow, they're yellowish white. They lay a dark tan egg, easily identified from the pinkish shade the chanteclers lay. A while back I thought I would just breed these rejects for meat birds, but they aren't that meaty and rather narrow in body. I could keep them as egg layers as they lay well. Not sure what to do with them, but I don't even want the ones that appear to be Chantecler to be used in any breeding as I am really unsure about what they sent me. Anyone have any ideas what these are? Do partridge rocks sometimes have peacombs show up? I know they're hatchery birds, I just expected consistency in breed. First pic is one of my Chanteclers, other pics are whatever Hoover sent me
