I found two abandoned pea chicks in our yard (a neighbor saw a fox the day before, so we think it got the mama).

I did a crash course on peafowl. We've got them in a 3' x 3' x 12" cage with a clip lamp and 60 watt flood bulb, plus a space heater. We keep them outside. We're in Miami, which doesn't get lower than 75 degrees at night. They sleep near the lamp but not necessarily huddled together. I think they're only 1 week old from pictures I've seen.

I bought game starter from the feed store and we do take them out several times a day to let them forage. I know it's recommended not to let them on soil, but they love it so much.

They're both perky and happy, but today I noticed one of them had watery poo. I'm attaching pics of the poo and the chicks.

The one with the watery poo does love to drink a ton of water.

Welcome to BYC! Cute chicks. May I suggest that you buy a kitchen scale and start to weigh them daily? Healthy chicks make daily weight gains, but sick ones do not.
